Director Matt Krol will be holding auditions for the thriller DEATHTRAP. Shake off the winter blahs and take on an acting challenge. The play features great roles for actors and promises a great evening for audiences. Audition times are Sunday, December 3 and Monday, December 4 at 7 pm at the theatre on Race Street. Show dates are January 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 27, and 28.
The story centers around Sidney Bruhl, a successful writer of Broadway thrillers, who is struggling to overcome a dry spell which has resulted in a strong of failures and a shortage of funds. A possible break in his fortunes occurs when he receives a script from a student in the seminar he has been conducting at a nearby college–-a thriller which Sidney recognizes immediately as a Broadway hit. Sidney’s plan, which he devises with his wife’s help, is to offer collaboration to the student, an idea which the younger man quickly accepts.

SIDNEY BRUHL A famous, formerly successful, playwright known for a thriller he wrote 18 years ago. Calculated, witty, intelligent, and hoping for a lucrative change in fortune. Male, appears to be 40s-60s.
MYRA BRUHL Sidney’s wealthy wife. A loving and beautiful woman with a sense of morality, yet fearful and fragile. Female.
CLIFFORD ANDERSON A young aspiring playwright who is hungry for a hit. Male, appears to younger than Sidney (20s – 30s)
HELGA TEN DORP A psychic from Holland staying in the cottage neighboring the Bruhl home while on sabbatical. Female, age could vary… appears 40 on up.
PORTER MILGRIM Sidney’s friend and lawyer, with a dirty secret. Male, age could vary.
