VWCT will offer two opportunities for the youth to get on stage and have fun. The first one will be a musical auditioning May 21 and 22 at 6:30 p.m. Come ready to move and sing a short song (1 minute). Even singing “Happy Birthday” will work. Amy Boley will direct the high energy Madagascar, Jr. Performances are June 21, 22, 23, and 24.
Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto your stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime. The show follows all of your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey. Rehearsals will be Monday – Friday 4-6 p.m. through June 6 then move to 10 am to noon rehearsals until the performances.
As soon as the musical closes, Monica Campbell will hold auditions for a non-musical, The True Story of Hey Diddle Diddle. Auditions will be June 24 and 25 at 7 p.m.
We all know the nursery rhyme “Hey Diddle Diddle,” but when you stop to think about it…how can a cow jump over the moon? If a cat could play the fiddle, wouldn’t it be all over the internet? Why is a dish running away with a spoon? What’s the little dog actually laughing at? And how do they all connect with each other? This family comedy offers seven different outlandish tales speculating about what might be The True Story of Hey Diddle Diddle. Tentative rehearsals will begin June 28 and run from 7-8:30 pm Monday-Thursday.
