Auditions

Auditions Aug 7 and 8 for first musical

VWCT is gearing up for our 2022-2023 season with the first show. Rated P for Parenthood is a musical about all things parenting from conception to college but at a much lower price.

Auditions for the musical Rated P for Parenthood will be held on Sunday, August 7 and Monday, August 8 at 7 p.m. at 118 South Race Street in Van Wert, Ohio. Director/Choreographer Jerry Zimmerman and Music Director Dee Fisher need at least two females and two males ages 20 and up to play a variety of parents at all stages of parenthood. The cast can be larger. Musical styles range from rap to opera. There is a role for you.

Rated P for Parenthood chronicles every stage of modern-day parenting with giant doses of heart and humor. A versatile cast takes the audience through the ups and downs of having kids – from the sublime to the ridiculous – in a series of comic and musical vignettes. Hilarious, fresh, and decidedly irreverent. Character information and snippets of the songs can be found at https://broadwaylicensing.com/shows/rated-p-for-parenthood/ While the show can be done with 2 men and 2 women, the director may choose to cast more people.

Those auditioning should bring a short (90 second) prepared song that showcases your vocal range and abilities. Piano accompaniment will be provided. Come dressed to move as you will be asked to do a few dance moves during auditions. Performances are Sept 22, 23, 24, 25*, 29, 30, Oct. 1, 2*, 2022 at 8 PM or 2 PM*. Text or call Jerry Zimmerman for more information – 419-296-5157.
